The Pakistani government has announced that Pakistani nationals departing from the country on international flights must be vaccinated against polio. Additionally, foreign visitors who have stayed in Pakistan for more than four weeks are also required to obtain the polio vaccination before departing the country.
However, currently airlines are only checking polio certificate when destination country requires vaccination.
Passengers planning to travel internationally should be aware that the availability of polio vaccination services at airports is very limited. The airport authorities cannot guarantee that the vaccination will be available at the airport. Therefore, all travelers are strongly advised to plan ahead and ensure they obtain their polio vaccination certificate from a designated healthcare provider before arriving at the airport for their international flights.
